The Shed is owned and run by me, Kate Crofts. I have been in the fitness industry for over 20 years with a passion for strength training, nutrition and helping others achieve their goals.
I have a friendly and honest approach to fitness. My aim is to create small lifestyle changes in order to achieve your goals. No fad diets, just simple, straightforward, honest advice.
The Shed has a rustic feel but we have everything you need to ensure a safe, effective workout. The Shed was designed to create a community of like-minded people. The building itself started out as a cricket pavilion and it might look like a rusty green tin but what we have created is far from that. We have upcycled pallet boards for walls and scaffold boards for shelves. No, The Shed isn’t fancy but it’s not about how it looks it’s what we have created that is important.
Everyone is welcome at The Shed, all classes are created for all fitness levels and can be adapted for all abilities.

She keeps a close eye on technique and weight even in the largest group classes and is always ready to help motivate you – quickly picking up on what works and doesn’t work for each individual.
In the past, I have often started at a gym and as soon as something gets in the way, the pattern is broken, and I don’t go back. Kate’s classes are different – 2.5 years later and I am still going regularly.
